The USA were the only country that invoked NATO article 5 after 9/11. Every NATO nation came to help in Afghanistan. 1,144 NATO soldiers, among them 60 Germans, died during this war.

However, after surfacing the original website, I'm very doubtful this infographic was created in that wholesome context. Hard science-fiction still is science-fiction, and I'm weary of anyone who's trying to exploit its cool factor to sell investments opportunities that do not exist in real life, for exacting reasons I now know you know about.
It also doesn't help that these mirages are currently being peddled by the richest and most ethically questionable people in the world and this definitely contributed to my original knee-jerk reaction.
