Hi, I'm working on a collection of resources to make writing solarpunk easier and I'm currently putting together a page about exurbs, basically how they came to be, why they're unsustainable, how they might reshape in the future if supply chains break down.
Solarpunk has a lot of 'fuck cars' elements and I've picked up a lot of that over the years, but as I research this one, I'm realizing I don't have specific examples as close to hand as I did for the other topics. I haven't spent much time in communities dedicated just to these discussions and I'd like to make sure I don't miss any community-favorite articles/essays on stuff like how cars reshaped rural places, the complexities of automobile manufacturing supply chains, and the car-size arms race.

Il 2025 per il fediverso: seppur partito alla grande con un grande afflusso di persone susseguentemente allle elezioni di trump, ha velocemente perso tutto e beffa finale ci si è ritrovati ad aver perso centinaia di migliaia di persone rispetto al 2024.
A peggiorare la situazione è l'incredibile centralizzazione su mastodon.social, che ha da solo superato i 3 milioni di iscritti su 8 milioni totali!

Se invece siamo disposti ad allentare un po' i cordoni, allora probabilmente si può crescere.
Faccio un esempio: sono appassionato di lettura e libri, su X o Fb ci sono tanti gruppi stracolmi di recensioni (e pubblicità) di ogni tipo. Ma alla fine si cicla su un poche centinsia titoli che vengono riproposti per tenere viva e profittevole la timeline. Commenti: "bellissimo, capolavoro, noioso, ho letto 10 pagine, super consigliato" o poco più. Poi c'è il provocatore che fa partire la rissa da bar con altri e amministratori.
Contenuti? Zero
Interazioni? Tante, ma inutili
