The aircraft, stuck in Toronto since early 2022, belongs to the sanctioned Volga-Dnepr company. Legal proceedings are ongoing due to its complex corporate ties.

My kids do (well, the older ones anyway. The baby would only want to eat it 😁)

We still got a CD player in the living room, with some children’s CDs.

My oldest even has one in his room (though I’m pretty sure he uses it mainly as Bluetooth speaker for his laptop these days)

My grandchildren probably thought they were for hanging in the yard to scare birds. At one point in the past, our garden looked like a hanging AOL advertisement. Decades or two ago, we had CDs hanging on a clothesline from one end of the garden to the other.

@hotsoup I moved into this neighborhood shortly after it was built, and there were a lot of kids then (including my own). Over the years, I saw a big drop in the number of kids, but now 20 years later, I think it’s largely turned over and there’s a new bunch of young families here and I would say it’s more kids than I’ve ever seen here

Your inability to grasp science is not a valid argument against it.
in reply to Stefan Müller

@Stefan Müller I believe this sign is missing the point. For the people (like me) who trust science as a guiding principle, it can be hard to grasp that some people only see science as a mean to their end, and if it goes against it, to rail against it. None of this depends on them grasping science or not. If anything, they understand all too well it doesn't go their way, so they work to undermine it.

in reply to James Baillie

@James Baillie This was a jarring survey, there's no definition of "AI" anywhere in the survey, which makes it pretty much moot.

#PSA - I recently stopped my windows based computer backing every document and photo to the #Cloud because fuck #Microsoft and their #LLM - I never asked for their fucking cloud storage in the first place. Or their LLM that they incorrectly call AI - it is not AI and can’t even add up.

Anyway, as part of this process, Microsoft then automatically deleted all my files - *including* the versions on my own computer. Fuck Microsoft.

As it happens, I back up all my computer files on an external HardDisk on the first day of every month. As a result, I was able to copy the files and directories back to my computer with little disruption.

If you are going to disconnect from your cloud storage - be warned in advance … back up all your files and directories on an external Hard Disk first.

They are not capable of being "independent" because they are babies.

Please stop trying to push your baby into the void.

Your baby is a human being that exists and relies on adults for everything.

Holding a baby is not harmful to the baby.

You can opt-out by cancelling your subscription. When you do, they will offer a Office365 "classic" option which is at the previous price and doesn't include Copilot.

If you want to understand how untenable, radically new, and ridiculous the anti-trans idea of gender is, just consider Laker Jackson. He's an eighth grader in Arizona that is no longer allowed to participate in sports with his peers or use the boys facilities, despite having done so his entire life up until now without issue. He's a kid just trying to play sports with his friends and pee in peace.

He's also not trans.

Laker is a cis boy, but his birth certificate listed his assigned gender at birth as female. Because of anti-trans laws, his family can't correct the problem. Literally just a clerical error is all it takes for the government to decide, against all reason, that Laker is not a boy.

Congratulations, the government now gets to decide your gender. That's a new power that the far right has decided the government should have over the past few years.

Article includes a needless Mamdani dig, which are just funny at this point.
