For $reasons, I had 5 24 packs of coke cans to give out for Halloween. In my 6 decades Halloween, I don’t think I’ve ever seen kids that excited. One ran down the street screaming β€œI GOT CAFFEINE!”

Yeah, that was probably ill advised, but it was not as bad as those Nickleback CDs

The first year we lived in our current house, we did not prepare for the Trick-or-Treat onslaught we had. I ran up to the nearby grocery store, which was sold out of all individually wrapped candies. The only thing they had left was chewing gum multi packs. I grabbed a bunch. The kids were soo excited, I could only guess they weren't allowed it normally.

@run_atalanta that is funny. I do think the same happened here with kids not normally having it. And there were way more kids this year than I can ever remember in this neighborhood

@hotsoup I moved into this neighborhood shortly after it was built, and there were a lot of kids then (including my own). Over the years, I saw a big drop in the number of kids, but now 20 years later, I think it’s largely turned over and there’s a new bunch of young families here and I would say it’s more kids than I’ve ever seen here
