The U.S. Senate passed a War Powers Resolution 52‑47 aimed at limiting Trump’s ability to conduct further military action against Venezuela without explicit Congressional approval. Five Republicans joined Democrats, reflecting bipartisan concern after the recent U.S. military raid in Caracas.
However, it still faces hurdles: it must advance in the House, and even if approved by both chambers, Trump is expected to veto it, and Congress would need a two‑thirds majority to override the veto.
