The Ukrainian general staff has confirmed that the Astrakhan gas processing station was struck last night. Locals reported of explosions and unusual fires have been seen on videos. NASA FIRMS map detected a large heat source after the strikes. Damage assessment is underway.
Aside from processing gas, the station feeds from the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC), connecting natural gas transports from Tengiz, Kazakhstan, to Novorossiysk. UA forces struck facilities of that pipeline in the past.
German Chancellor Friedrich Merz:
"A sustainable peace in Europe is only possible with a sovereign Ukraine that can defend itself against Russian attacks. We are expanding the cooperation between German and Ukrainian companies. Only by demonstrating strength can we end this senseless war."

Time for an unashamedly geeky post. This is the iconic metal and glass roof of Central Station in Glasgow. Built in 1879 (and later extended), the steelwork was created by Motherwell Bridge and Engineering Company. Containing around 48,000 panes, making up a total of 2.2 square miles of glass, it's one of the largest glass roofs in the world.
