Following the act of sabotage on the Warsaw–Lublin railway line, where an explosive device destroyed a section of track, Poland's Minister of National Defence and Deputy Prime Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz announced a heightened security measure.

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced during a speech in the Sejm that the individuals responsible for the acts of railway sabotage have been identified.
He stated that, according to the findings of the security services, the sabotage was carried out by two Ukrainian citizens who had been operating and cooperating with Russian intelligence services for some time.

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk provided further details about the suspects. One of them was convicted in May by a court in Lviv for acts of sabotage in Ukraine, and the other is a resident of Donbas in eastern Ukraine. Both entered Poland from Belarus this autumn.
The perpetrators, after carrying out the sabotage in the town of Mika, left Poland through the Terespol border crossing and returned to Belarus.
