also i think it's more subtle than making "shit". i had conversation with friends i really respect and admire their practice who told me how they got actually nice job opportunities through instagram. For example someone talk about them to someone else and then show their instagram profile which later get mentionned in a meeting or commission. I know they would have loved that person to show their personnal website instead but factually that person didn't knew about personnal website and used the platform as a way to discover and share other's work. That is a constraint in discoverability not one in what you actually make as an artists (which is another discussion i guess).

This quote from 404media.co/chatbots-health-me… is accurate, but it absolutely didn't need a large-scale study to be said. Machine learning, of which Large Language Models depend on, are really good at laser-focusing on a specific outcome. So they can pass exams with relative ease: clear and limited goals, discrete grading, that's machine learning bread and butter.
But they aren't humans, who were the ones medical exams were designed for. So you can't make the same assumptions about LLMs passing medical exams as you would with actual humans. Of course, the natural language interface unnecessarily blurs the line.

Io sono adulto e nessun barista mi ha mai chiesto documenti prima di servirmi alcolici. Anche se me li chiedesse, non li conserverebbe.
Questi sistemi, per come li vedo realizzati, porteranno a megadatabase di dati personali e sensibili.

Ciò non toglie che se arriva un sedicenne al bancone è dovere del barista verificare quanti anni ha.
Sono assolutamente d'accordo quando dici che il barista non conserva il documento, come detto non giustifico a priori qualsiasi metodo di verifica.
Solo non ritengo ipocrita in sé l'idea della verifica.

Io però sto scindendo la logica dall'implementazione: è chiaro che avere un archivio di chi visita cosa è sbagliato e pericoloso, non si discute, e se domani discord mi chiede i documenti smetto di usarlo.
Ma accidenti, anziché identificare ogni singolo utente con il suo documento, non basterebbe che ogni sito e social usassero dei metadati comuni, dopodiché il browser o il sistema operativo, che conoscono l'età del loro utente, possono leggere i metadati e decidere se consentire l'accesso o meno???
Vero che richiede un minimo di coordinamento, ma mi pare un coordinamento banale.

Questi problemi sarebbero demandati all'adulto che ha messo il dispositivo in mano a un minore. Basterebbe che ci fosse un po' più di consapevolezza e responsabilità da parte dei genitori.

Al momento, non c'è nessuno strumento pratico e mediamente semplice che un genitore possa usare per evitare che suo figlio si iscriva a TikTok.
Corretto?
Per cui, l'unico modo per mettere in pratica il tuo suggerimento sarebbe 1) che i genitori non diano lo smartphone ai minorenni o 2) che controllino continuamente questo smartphone.
Trovo entrambe le cose insensate.

A mio avviso un controllo così stretto da impedire l'iscrizione ai social è talmente stretto da non essere attuabile nella pratica, sicché diventa un'argomentazione pretestuosa.
Che una volta ogni tot si dia un'occhiata allo smartphone del figlio ci può stare, certamente.
Ma che uno strumento così stradiffuso non si sia dotato di un sistema semplice per proteggere i minori, come un Android ' for teens' , io lo trovo un'assurdità.

Per quello che riguarda ME, il mio piano quando arriverà il turno dei miei, credo che gli darò uno smartphone con #GrapheneOs e NON inserirò l'accesso ai play services.
Ma è una soluzione zoppa, lo vedo da me.
Demandare ai genitori la cosa sarebbe come dire che è il genitore che deve impedire al barista di vendere alcolici al figlio.

Ma il blocco totale dei social per i minorenni è proprio quello che sta avvenendo:

E tutti più o meno chiedono ai social media di farsi carico di verificare l'età.
Al contrario il parental control lascia anche discrezionalità al genitore di decidere come regolarsi con il proprio figlio. È possibile già ora bloccare l'installazione di un app per lo smartphone dei propri figli.
Anche la Spagna vuole vietare i social fino ai 16 anni

Sì, è più complicata di così, c'è la nazionalità, ma è proprio un pelo.
avrebbe senso se a) tutti lo facessero e e) se un bambino/ragazzo avesse accesso solo al suo dispositivo, ma sappiamo benissimo che non è così.
Nella classe di mio figlio (12 anni, 20 allievi), lui è l'unico senza smartphone; degli altri 19 forse 3 hanno un parental control abilitato.
E' vero, però è anche vero che al momento il parental control è proprietario ( Google ha il suo, Apple ha il suo.. ) e funziona così così, mi dicono.
Io penso che se il parental control a livello di OS fosse condiviso e semplice da usare, i genitori lo userebbero e diventerebbe una prassi.

Li poi sta a te genitore ragionare con tuo figlio. Mia figlia (15 verso i 16) ce l'ha ancora attivo, la decisione è stata concordata

Vediamo se ho capito: il parental control di Google, che quindi funziona solo su telefoni Android, ti consente di 1) limitare il tempo sullo schermo o su app specifiche 2) bloccare l'installazione di nuove app tipo TikTok 3) geolocalizzarti il figlio/figlia 4) filtrare i contenuti.
Come è messo il filtro sui contenuti, per esempio video YouTube? Funziona bene o blocca tutto/non blocca niente?
Il problema è che io lo so ma moltissimi altri no. Per dire: un'amica di mia figlia (15 anni) usa Snapchat per chattare online con sconosciuti, i genitori (padre in polizia, madre insegnante di liceo, quindi non proprio gli ultimi dei cretini) non ne hanno la più pallida idea.
Per questo non puoi metterla via con "è un problema dei genitori"
Io sarò nella tua situazione tra qualche anno, ma già vedo che fra pochissimo dovrò iniziare a lottare perché tutti i compagni avranno lo smartphone in prima media e faranno iscrivere i figli a whatsapp perché... tanto che può succedere di male?
Quindi sono d'accordo che non si può lasciare solo ai genitori (anche perché non è di banale gestione neanche per genitori con competenze informatiche), ma io sono più favorevole a una sensibilizzazione e informazione che parta anche dalla scuola, piuttosto che a una misura di controllo invasivo di tutta la popolazione.

@game infatti il punto è che se c'è una categoria di persone che non è del tutto capace di intendere il colore nero e che deve essere tutelata, chi deve tutelarla è soprattutto il suo tutore legale. Se vogliamo che i fornitori proibiscano la produzione dei loro servizi ai minorenni, Allora lo Stato deve prima legiferare per stabilire che quei servizi sono dannosi.

@mrphelz lo stato dovrebbe prima spiegare qual è il danno, quantificarlo e stabilire sanzioni per i tutori legali (=i genitori). Poi deve avviare campagne di sensibilizzazione e centri di supporto per le vittime. Solo dopo potrebbe valutare se introdurre sistemi di riconoscimento
