The update was confirmed by Germany’s Ambassador to Ukraine, Heiko Thoms, who represents the German government in Kyiv.
He stated that Germany has already transferred nine IRIS-T systems and plans to deliver several more in the near future.

He perished in the camp on 2 July 1942.
An Ukrainian air defense position, possibly a Patriot SAM, shot down a Russian Su-34 over the Black Sea not far from the Ukrainian coast. The crew was killed.
I guess that Russians probed the Ukrainian air defense capabilities in that sector. They evidently found out.
