@trashHeap Same here, but I keep thinking about the Arpanet map that you could draw on a single sheet of paper with the name and address of each server in the network. Obviously very removed from the Web, but its beginnings were fairly exclusive.
Note that it doesn’t detract from your latter criticism, LLM-based GenAI is setting fire to the little commons left there was.

ActivityPub API Client Reputation
For the ActivityPub API Task Force, I started an issue to discuss OAuth client reputation systems.
A reputation system tracks which OAuth clients are known good, known bad, or unknown. Servers could use this information to limit what clients can do. For example, a server could prevent users from logging in with a known bad client.
The reputation could be based on human curation and review, or on automated collection of evidence from historical behaviour of the client.
I'm trying to find examples in the OAuth ecosystem of this kind of reputation systems -- either local or distributed.
App store approval (and user reviews) are a good example for native apps. OpenBanking keeps a client directory that needs human curation and review.
I don't have examples from OAuth -- especially with dynamic registration or CIMD.
Any ideas?

In 1959, a cement mixer with a full load of cement, wrecked near Winganon, Oklahoma 🇺🇸
By the time a tow truck came to haul it away, all of cement had hardened inside of mixer. Tow truck was not able to remove all wreckage at same time because of weight, and decided to haul only cab/frame and would come back for detached mixer later, which never happened.
Today, 67 years later, it still sits where it fell. Locals have painted it and added "rocket thrusters" to make it look like a space capsule.
