Beyond the sheer callousness of using #AI Agents to *check notes* "automate acts of kindness" ending in infuriatingly spam emails, there's the sheer stupidity of having AI agents fumble their way through a graphical use interface meant for humans when we've known how to send emails with lower level tools for far longer. Although I'm not sure having an AI agent fumble its way through the SMTP protocol would be much smarter either.
All in all, another spectacular own goal for people purporting to be "effective altruists".

Reading recent #Vance interview in full makes it much more balanced that earlier fragments quoted by media. Still, you can see a rather astonishing level of confusion among US elites about what’s going on in #Ukraine and #Russia
For example, Vance’s rhetorical question “what will happen to Russians living in Ukraine” is absurd - ethnic Russians in Ukraine simply lived and live there because it’s their country. They were not forcibly deported to Ukraine from Russia, they were born or moved there.
If anyone wanted to leave for Russia or the EU, they would have left long ago, and Ukraine did not make it difficult for them (except for mobilization).
The only problem is the other side, which actively deported thousands of people from Ukraine and placed them in unknown locations – some ended up in Siberia, some in prisons.

Chance would have it that the latest sponsors of my beloved Nerazzurri football team began with that letter: Pirelli, Paramount, ...
So I started finding words that started with the letter P and that referred to my travels, and magically, many came out: Patagonia, Palestine, Persia, Poetto, ...

They were not only my Linus' blanket but also the protected me and were key to entering the hearts of the many wonderful people I met along the way
They also often saved my skin at checkpoints scattered across the Middle East
The team jerseys are like flags of a new geography, not of war, but of encounter
They bear different colors, but they tell the same story: that of those who run, dream, make mistakes, and start over again together with others
