It bothers me that before they show the footage of the murder of these people, the news man never says "We are about to show footage where people were killed some viewers might find this disturbing." As they would for other disasters, so when the bile rises in my throat, because I really did just see some people snuffed out of existence I also have to feel like I'm being too sensitive for caring.
The careless way some death is displayed is also a kind of propaganda that explains who matters.
The New York Times apparently didn’t have space to cover Czech’s murder, but they did have room for Ross Douthat to host a debate on “Did Women Ruin the Workplace,” and for David French to muse on “How Women Destroyed the West.”

A question about multi-communities (the new feature being tested)
Will the multi-communities be able to handle communities from multiple instances?
Like communities from lemmy.eco.br and lemmy.pt that are country agnostic, like !dev@lemmy.eco.br and !devpt@lemmy.pt, that are development communties, but pulverized across instances, so creating multi-communities across both instances would make good onboarding on both sides.
Just asking to see what would be capable, to atract more people easily, showing more "content", etc.

President Zelensky has approved a new system to fairly distribute new recruits among brigades. Col. Pavlo Palisa says each frontline unit will now receive a stable monthly number of mobilized troops, with training tailored to the conditions of the assigned brigade.

I’m not too keen to use #LLM for what companies are trying to push it for - even PagerDuty is now trying to convince me to use “AI” for whatever - but I found that they really work great for tasks that I was never getting satisfactory results from classic algorithmic solutions.
Such as “here’s a paragraph of text, generate five representative tags out of it, then summarise in a max 120 chars title, and then using yes/no decide if it should be marked as sensitive”. (that’s done three prompts in practice ofc)
I’ve tried NLTK and other Pythonic tools, but the results were… well, just bland and not representative.
LLM does the job 100% as expected. Right now I’m using ChatGPT API cheap using gpt-4o-mini because it makes prototyping easier, but next step will be trying to find a reasonably sized local LLM for that purpose.

However, if you don't need the full suite of tools that characterize a social media platform, you're better off using WordPress.

We're talking about software with a very nice interface, but it's still a social networking software. Being essentially a fork of Misskey, it also has a section for creating static pages that can be easily viewed from outside the Fediverse, but these pages can't be federated with Activitypub 😭.
Ultimately, it seems even less suitable for creating a blog.
If you absolutely must use a Fediverse social media platform, then you'd be better off going with Friendica!

PS: There's also a software called Hubzilla, which is compatible with Activitypub, although it has developed its own communication protocol. I'm only mentioning it because it's a feature-rich and well-designed product, but its interface is quite complex and unfriendly, so although I've chosen to mention it, I can't recommend it as an alternative.
