in reply to trashHeap • • •@trashHeap The “democratic transition” is an excuse for the coup, in order to hand over the country to someone sympathetic to privatizing oil extraction in Venezuela, in the person of the most recent “Nobel Peace Prize” recipient.
Trump said the quiet part out loud in that she is supposed to be a puppet for US interests. It is also possible the oil blockade and the coup weren’t coordinated, but even then, hijacking an oil tanker going from Venezuela to Cuba is a great opportunity to vex both countries and get a favor with a US oil baron.
This is the little sense I’ve been able to make of all this in the past 24 hours I’ve known about it.

They also seem to be signaling they dont want to transition to that Nobel Peace Prize recipient; and dont think she can run the country.
AND appear to be signalizing their open to leaving Maduro's senior leaders in place if they play ball?
