in reply to Hypolite Petovan • • •@hypolite @futurebird Cucomo is the king of NY, ran as a dem despite being more right than anything else, lost the rank choice vote in prelims to Mamandi (a young Muslim dem social who ran on lgbtq rights, dealing with housing crisis, etc) and then decided fuck it ill run as independent because he lost the dem nomination. Cucomo proceeded to outspent Mamandi by 7 to 1 (because hes a rich king like person) and attack his religion and skin color, but because Mamandi had power of the people he smashed the mayoral race anyway and won.
Dem party needs to fucking wake up. What happened in NY is the story of how we get better. Give people a good candidate who speaks up for truth and justice and equality and stares down billionaires, theyโll win fine.
(I probably spelled names wrong, but its too early in the morning and proper nouns are hard).
