I've been on the Internet since 1987, started a career building the commercial Internet in 1995, and have spent the last 25 years writing books about how to build foundational Internet infrastructure. I've consulted for and worked with any number of dot-coms, and the one lesson I've gotten over and over again?
The Internet's business model is betrayal.
We have no smart lights. No voice assistants. No Alexa or Siri. No video doorbell. Our thermostat and appliances constantly complain about their lack of Internet. None of this stuff is safe.
The Internet tech I do use? A desktop PC. Email on my phone is for travel only: airplane tickets, hotel reservations, hockey and concert tix. Location on my phone? Nope, we use a dedicated non-networked GPS in the car. The microphones are off.
How can a light bulb betray me? I don't know. I do know that the vendors have put a LOT of thought into it, though, and I can't out-think all of them.

Yes, [AI] represents a significant shift in how we build software, it moves us further away from how the underlying stuff actually works, but the benefits exceed the risks.
I don't know about that last one. If it weren't for the numerous massive externalities the current crop of AI currently has, it might have been easier to argue for it, but in the current situation, I don't think it's that clear-cut.
Of course it's easier to clump the people who are concerned about these never-before-seen externalities with the people who are averse to change in their craft in order to dismiss both wholesale.
@Liam Proven Also the difference between AI and the entirety of the technologies mentioned in this article is that machine learning (of which LLMs are an outcrop) is deliberately designed to obscure its inner working. It is a feature that makes it incredibly effective to reach its goal, but as a result even machine learning experts cannot explain how a system produced a given outcome, by design.
So "nobody can't understand everything" as a hand-waving for AI is terribly reductionist. We voluntarily made computer systems inaccurate in order to bring about God in the machine and we ended up with a shitty climate change acceleratory Eliza.
It's not intentional. The images are still replicating from the old storage to the new storage bucket. I will see if there's something I can do to accelerate that.

vous apprenez de votre côté à mettre en place un outil qui se retrouve au catalogue de services de votre boîte. vous en faites aussi la démo et l'avant vente (avec un commercial pour l'approche initial)
le commercial touche sa part de commission, vous n'avez rien et on ne vous en parle même pas, d'avoir une commission.

@Marud Pour moi les deux sont liés. Pourquoi l’ingénieur/technicien prétendrait à une commission non négociée quand les commerciaux doivent se contenter de leur compensation fixe réduite en période de disette commerciale ?
Il y a pour moi une séparation forte des préoccupations entre ces deux profils professionnels qui n’a peut-être pas forcément lieu d’être, mais que cet exemple isolé ne justifie pas vraiment pour super favoriser le profil technique aux dépends du profil commercial.
