The Ukrainian general staff has confirmed that the Astrakhan gas processing station was struck last night. Locals reported of explosions and unusual fires have been seen on videos. NASA FIRMS map detected a large heat source after the strikes. Damage assessment is underway.
Aside from processing gas, the station feeds from the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC), connecting natural gas transports from Tengiz, Kazakhstan, to Novorossiysk. UA forces struck facilities of that pipeline in the past.

Built in 1879 (and later extended), the steelwork was created by Motherwell Bridge and Engineering Company. Containing around 48,000 panes, making up a total of 2.2 square miles of glass, it's one of the largest glass roofs in the world.
