He was a teacher, farmer, and politician. An activist of the peasant movement. He was a member of the lower house of the Polish parliament (Sejm).
During the German occupation, he was active in the underground organisation Stronnictwo Ludowe (People's Party) "Roch". On 18 July 1942, he was arrested and interrogated by the Gestapo in Nowy Sฤ cz and Cracow.
He perished in Auschwitz on 20 May 1943.
