Ieri la mia bimba più piccola è venuta a casa piangendo perché i suoi compagni di scuola sostengono che "gli #hacker sono tutti cattivi e rubano i dati".
La mia prima risposta è stata che al momento i maggiori ladri e ricettatori di dati sono #Google, #Microsoft, #Amazon, #Facebook, #IBM e #Apple (la #GMAFIA, ex #GAFAM).
Quando però mi ha risposto mortificata che aveva provato a spiegarlo, ma loro gli dicevano che questi sono "i buoni che ci difendono dagli hacker", ho provato a cercare con lei il termine hacker sulla enciclopedia #Treccani che, sebbene proponga una definizione un po' stereotipata e superficiale, almeno mi ha aiutato a rassicurarla che il suo papà non è un mostro cattivo.

He was a teacher, farmer, and politician. An activist of the peasant movement. He was a member of the lower house of the Polish parliament (Sejm).
During the German occupation, he was active in the underground organisation Stronnictwo Ludowe (People's Party) "Roch". On 18 July 1942, he was arrested and interrogated by the Gestapo in Nowy Sącz and Cracow.
He perished in Auschwitz on 20 May 1943.

I’ve been organizing music today, into static playlists for use with an MP3 player.
It’s astounding how good this task feels, to break away from streaming services and go back to my own collection of music, algorithm-free and played on a device that isn’t collecting my data in order to exploit me.

Yonks ago, I said when I did batteries and solar on my house, I wanted to do it with Victron. Because Victron is often used on boats and can work perfectly entirely offline (cos boats aren’t always on the internet).

Tumblr sospende l'integrazione con fediverso e il passaggio a WordPress
Tumblr sta abbandonando – o almeno sospendendo – il suo piano di migrazione a WordPress. Di conseguenza, ciò significa anche sospendere i piani di integrazione di Tumblr nel fediverso.
La notizia è stata diffusa lunedì sul podcast Decoder di The Verge . Automattic, proprietaria di Tumblr, aveva annunciato l'anno scorso di voler spostare il backend del suo sito web da Tumblr a WordPress. Ma il fondatore e CEO di Automattic, Matt Mullenweg, ha dichiarato a Decoder che l'idea era in sospeso perché l'azienda aveva deciso di "concentrarsi il più possibile sulle cose che sarebbero state visibili agli utenti e che gli utenti stavano chiedendo". Questo è coerente: cambiare il backend di un sito web è un'impresa importante, ma che non è immediatamente evidente alla maggior parte degli utenti.
