L'illustration parfaite de la capitalisation du Solarpunk. Un joli mot derrière lequel on mets plein de jolies choses souvent creuses.
Rebirth, un jeu magnifique à la promesse alléchante : rebâtir l’Écosse dans un futur radieux et décroissant, à l'aide de tech "vertes" et de fermes low-tech. Seulement voila : c'est un jeu de conquête de territoires dans lequel on s'affronte pour de l'influence. Toujours de la baston et de la colonisation, alors qu'on aurait pu imaginer de la coopération et une réflexion sur l'écologie sociale.
On a donc un jeu qui utilise le solarpunk à des fins marketing mais dont le fond est en totale inadéquation avec la forme. Dommage.

Through environmental lobbying Hinkley Point C was obliged to install an extremely complex “fish protection” system which costs no more no less than 700’000’000 GBP and it’s estimated benefit for the environment is equivalent to less than 1 (one) salmon per year and a few more of smaller fish. No need to mention that countries like China - which manufacture 80% of Europe’s PV panels and wind turbines thanks to cheap energy - don’t care about such fancy toys.
Make no mistake, such systems are also often demanded for off-shore wind turbines, also boosting their cost, but to much lesser scale.

Fartage was a bully then and he is one now. School bullies are cowards who construct a fake persona to make themselves appear tough but once they are confronted they cower.
Fartages political persona is all about him being tough and telling people he knows what is best for the country ( what is best for my backers and me). When he is confronted all we get is weasel words, bluster, "I never said that" and "That is being taken out of context". He is cowering as he knows he has been rumbled.
Aristotle said "Give me a child until he is 7 and I will show you the man” Well he got Fartage's age wrong but I think it stands.
The question is how has he managed to survive so long when he is such an obvious phoney?

I posted this before, but it is worth it just for the beautiful photo.
This picture feels like it was taken yesterday… but it was taken in a Paris public garden nearly a hundred years ago. Everything feels modern: the composition, the casualness, the daring clothes, haircuts, and accessories.
The colors are original: this is an #autochrome, using the first process for colour photography invented by the Lumière brothers in 1903.
The women are unknown, but I can't help wondering how they fared a few years later in nazi-occupied Paris.
